Location: Colours of Dance Studios

Ballet Teacher:

We are seeking an experienced ballet (or multi-disciplinary) teacher to take over classes within our current timetable, starting initially on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4pm and to develop new classes during the daytime (on any day) and to expand the timetable.  We are proud to say that demand for our classes and teachers is increasing and we are seeking a highly skilled professional to expand our team and opportunities for our students.  This opportunity is with effect from September 2025, and the initial committment would be for a year.

We offer classes from pre-school creative movement through to Advanced, accepting both children and adults.  We welcome those who wish to dance for fitness and pleasure and we offer challenge and development to those who which to explore a career in the dance or other theatrical arts We put on an annual whole-school show in March, and hold regular RAD exam sessions in June and November, making additional filmed entries at other times of the year as needed.   This position would be teaching from pre-school, childrens grades, vocational levels and for adults, teaching across the RAD grades, and incorporating development and exam preparation classes, in our studios and at outreach placements.  It would include supporting and mentoring pre-vocational students, and working with the Principal to develop additional courses and resources to support this work.  

The right person will be highly skilled, an experienced and qualified teacher, and they will hold RAD Registered Teacher status.  However, recognising that this is a diverse profession, all qualifications & training will be considered for genuine and quality applicants.  The right person will be child/student-centred in their approach, creative, have high standards of personal integrity and professionalism and will be able to evidence a strong record of quality outcomes, through a track record of exam results and poisitive impact on students over time, backed up by excellent references.  They will enjoy working as part of a team, and ideally will have an entrepreneurial spark looking for an opportunity to grow.  They will have a first aid qualification and teaching insurance, and evidence their commitment to Continuing Professional Development.

Remuneration is at appropriate rate for the sector in this location, payable through a basic teaching rate paid half-termly, plus a profit-share, payable in early August.
